FDOT: Pensacola Bay Bridge contractors on track to reopen bridge in late May
According to Pensacola News Journal, Pensacola Bay Bridge contractors are pouring and leveling concrete on the new bridge. The latest Florida Department of Transportation’s update stated that the targeted reopening is at the end of May.
The Pensacola Bay Bridge has been out of service since Hurricane Sally in September, when loose barges from construction contractor Skanska USA hit several spans and caused significant damage.
