Mexico Beach Announces Seven Projects for Rebuild

Mar 24, 2020

Mexico Beach officials unveiled seven projects to rebuild the city from Hurricane Michael at the city’s 21st annual Gumbo Cook-Off, reports Panama City News Herald.

The plans for the seven different projects gives Mexico Beach officials a tool to request aid from organizations like the Federal Emergency Management Agency, so they can get funding to rebuild.

According to recently appointed city administrator for Mexico Beach, Mario Gisbert, some of the projects could cost as low as $40,000 to $50,000, but can be as high as $10 million. One of the projects that stands out to Gisbert is the city’s stormwater project.

The document of the plans can be found here for anybody in the community who wants to learn more about it.
